Set Up for Faster Animation Rendering with Chaos Cloud

This page offers information on how to set up your workflow for faster animation rendering with Chaos Cloud.

Overview

This video shows you the essential tips that help you to prepare your animations before sending them to Chaos Cloud to render.

It shows how to:

  • Optimize your animation scene;

  • Test animation renders by rendering a number of important frames;

  • Adjust the settings for production rendering;

  • Download files using the Command-Line Interface (CLI) download command.

Steps

1. In the Render Setting menu, from Image Sampler, set the Type option to Progressive.

2. From Render Elements tab, add the VRayDenoiser.

3. From Settings tab, set the Post effect rate to 100.

4. Render and open V-Ray messages to identify the optimal noise threshold.

5. In V-Ray tab, set the Image sampler (Antialiasing) Type to Bucket.

6. In the Bucket image sampler rollout, set the Noise threshold to 0.02.

7. In the Frame buffer rollout, enable the V-Ray raw image file. Choose a file path, name, and save the file as an *.exr.

8. In the Render Elements tab, choose the already added VRayDenoiser. From Advanced denoiser parameters, set the mode to Only generate render elements.

9. Press the Submit to Chaos Cloud rendering and in the newly open window, enable the Export animation option, and then press the Submit button.

10. In the newly opened web page, set the Frame Step to 50, and press Submit. Wait for the job to upload and press View Job. Save the frames locally.

11. In the V-Ray tab, from the Bucket image sampler rollout, set the Noise threshold to 0.005. Press Submit to Chaos Cloud rendering and in the newly opened window, enable the Export animation option. Press the Submit button.

12. In the newly opened web page, change the name and the resolution of the job, and press Submit. You can preview the animation once the job is finished.

13. Press the Download button and copy the command that shows. Paste it in the Command Prompt.

14. To denoise your animation, open the Denoiser tool. As an input file choose a single frame from your animation.

15. In the dialog that asks you if you want to load all other frames, press Yes, and then Denoise.

16. Now you can compare the results.
